About the BRCSA

The primary goal of the National Resource Center on Sexual Assault in the Black Community (BRCSA) is to enhance the capacity of culturally specific Black organizations to provide culturally relevant services and strategies addressing sexual assault in the Black community using an intensive model of comprehensive culturally specific training, technical assistance, skill-building tools, resources and support; while providing key information, resources and tools to support the provision of culturally specific, trauma- informed, survivor centered responses for Black survivors of sexual assault.

The BRCSA will advocate for social change and impact policy making on sexual assault in the Black community; and engage in meaningful and impactful research that addresses the intersections of race, class, and gender; the quality of services for survivors; offender accountability, and how (civil and criminal legal) intervention systems respond. Technical assistance and training tools will include: a website with archived materials (e.g., blog, articles, research literature, etc.); webinars; listening sessions; national trainings and meetings; capacity building and leadership support; policy discussions; community conversations on emerging issues; and onsite technical assistance.
